Many industry liners are very thin and flimsy—anywhere between 6 to 9 mil. They often rip whenever crawled on (defeats the purpose of a crawl space liner, huh?), which allows moisture into the crawl space, often causing mold, wood rot, insects, pests, and even dust mites to thrive. To prevent this from happening, this homeowner wanted our full crawl space encapsulation, including our CleanSpace© heavy, 20 mil thick liner. That's over twice as thick as most industry liners, and it's manufactured in 7 layers to optimize brute tear resistance, puncture resistance, and flexibility. It even has an "UltraFresh" antimicrobial additive molded right into the material! Additionally, we installed our SilverGlo© crawl space insulation, a 2" expanded polystyrene insulation with graphite infused into it. Its tiny particles reflect heat and lower the material's conductivity for superior R-value per inch. What does this mean? This encapsulation not only offers humidity control of their crawl space, but also gives insulation benefits, lowering the cost of homeownership by lowering heating bills.
