THE HELICAL PIER SYSTEM will permanently stabilize a home’s foundation and, in many cases, raise it back up. Engineered steel piers are “screwed” into the soil next to the foundation. Sections are added to reach appropriate depths and capacities, and the pier is then connected to the home’s foundation with steel brackets. Ultimately, the weight of the home is transferred from unstable soils, through the piers, to competent load-bearing soil or bedrock. Helical piers stabilize the foundation from further settlement and have the potential to lift it back toward its original position.
