Foundation Repair Photo Album: New Home in Middleton, ID with Foundation Settlement
The homeowners of this newly built Middleton, Idaho home noticed settlement on one side of their home. A settlement is common, and normal, in new homes. However, that doesn't mean it shouldn't be addressed. These homeowners decided to start the stabilization of their new home with the installation of an EZ Post helical pier. This pier will prevent the deck from continuing to sink and pull on the front of their home.
The installation crew first put in a temporary support so that they could safely install the EZ Post pier. They dug out under the original post and pushed the pier all the way down to solid ground. They were then able to cut the pier to fit under the existing post. A special bracket attaches the post to the pier and concrete is then re-poured around the base to further stabilize the post.
The homeowners were pleased to find that the final product looks just like the original. No one will even know that there was any work done to the home, and the deck is now permanently stabilized.
