Wet Walk-in Crawl Space Fixed in Post Falls, ID
Challenge
Homeowners had vapor barrier in their walk-in crawl space that wasn't even attached anywhere. Water was pooling up both on top and beneath the barrier because of this dis-attachment. This caused a severe amount of moisture to be present in the crawl space. This was not good as this space was being used as an additional storage spot. They knew that anything they stored down there was destined to be damaged from the amount of water present. They gave us a call and we sent out our expert to take a look at the issue, and to figure out what the best solutions to the problem would be.
Solution
We installed a crawl space waterproofing system to solve this issue. This included drainage matting underneath a new CleanSpace crawl space liner to help direct water seeping up from the ground to a sump pump. From there the sump pump would pump water to a safe distance away from the house. We also installed SmartPipe as a perimeter drainage system. Thanks to its unique profile and integrated filter fabric protection, SmartPipe will never clog or fail to capture seepage. To make sure that the space was ready for use, we also set up a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. This would remove excess moisture from the air and it only kicks in when high humidity levels are detected, saving energy for the homeowners. Now these homeowners truly have extra storage space to utilize under their home.
