Foundation Support for Home Being Built in Hayden, ID
Challenge
In July of 2014, contractor Marc D. began building a home near Hayden Lake in Hayden, Idaho. Early on, he and other builders noticed issues with the soil. The job halted to a stop in order to have a soil investigation performed by a local geotechnical engineering firm. The type and condition of the soil can have huge effects on the foundation of a home. When the results came back, the geotechnical engineer recommended Marc use helical piers to support the homes foundation. They also recommend the helical piers be installed before construction moved any farther in order to avoid foundation issues.
Solution
Foundation Supportworks of Idaho installed new construction helical piers to provide support for the floor slab. All 18 piers were drilled 20 feet into the ground in order to support the weight of the home soon to be above. We were able to finish installation of the piers within 4 days, keeping the rest of the build on schedule. Marc was very pleased with the over all installation of the piers and the homeowner was left with the peace of mind that his home would withstand the soil conditions below.
