Flooded Crawl Space Fixed in Salmon, ID
Challenge
A homeowner was in close proximity to a creek. When the water level of the creek would rise, water would begin to enter his crawl space. He already had a sump pump installed in the crawl space due to his home location, but the ground remained constantly wet. The wet crawl space was now causing existing supports under his home to start to sink. He gave us a call since his problem was worsening and we sent out our expert to take a look.
Solution
We installed a new sump pump that was capable of handling this volume of water. We also installed a SmartPipe since there was a large quantity of dirt that was now present in the space. The SmartPipe collects water while filtering out dirt and other debris, and then channels that water to the sump pump. Finally, we also made sure the discharge line had IceGuard properly installed to prevent water from being backed up in the winter due to potential frozen sump pump lines. We will be going back later to install smartjacks and piers to reinforce the sinking supports under his home once the water has cleared out.
